ACURET.ORG celebrated a decade of promoting humane animal care and use for scientific purposes in Developing Countries during its 4th International ACURET Workshop/Conference held at Park Hotel, Abeokuta, Nigeria from Nov. 30th – Dec. 3rd, 2022. The tenth year anniversary involved a retreat on ‘Prepare for better science’ – the theme of the conference and anniversary – going into the next decade. The Directorate of Forum, Training and Education [FTE] has rolled out a train of basic and advance trainings in Laboratory animal welfare, Science and Medicine which is aimed at appropriate levels for persons engaged in animal handling in the academia, industry and governmental arena.

Animal Care and Use in Research, Education and Testing [ACURET.ORG] is a Multinational, Interdisciplinary chartered organization of professionals (incorporated –CAC/IT/NO 67460) promoting humane animal care and use for scientific purposes in developing countries, particularly in Africa. ACURET was conceived in 2011, incorporated in 2014 and governed by a five-member Board of Trustees from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Grenada, and UK.
